Seeing Differently

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"
The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."
What he had written was: "Today is a beautiful day & I cannot see it."
Do you think the first sign & the second sign were saying the same thing? Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
Moral of the Story:
Be thankful for what you have.
Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.
Invite the people towards good with wisdom.

STORIES - The Weight of the Glass

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?"
Answers rang out through the room. Some said 20g, others said 500g.
The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it."
He continued, "If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.
"And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on.
"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.
"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.
"Relax! Pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"

Malaysia camp

Hx is glad that the bus didn't left without hx. If not, hx will regret it forever. A great learning experience for all who went into Malaysia. 1st of all, hx would like to thanks YongLian FTZ for inviting hx to the sharing session for Malaysia camp 2 years ago. The following year, hx get to go for Malaysia camp but ftz cant go in the last min as she had to take care of her children. Heard from ZZs that it might be the last year for us to go in for Malaysia camp so when hx opt for Malaysia camp this year, hx didn't really expect that we get the chance to go in. Hx get the chance to take 1 station and worked with Malaysia QX, a TZ and a young kun dao who looks like 14, 15 years old. hx is surprised when hx know her age. She is a very quiet girl. Remind hx of the past where hx is also very quiet. haha.. Tried to encourage her to talk more but think not very successful. Nevertheless hx feel that she had the potential to go far.

Lesson learnt

Hx was to meet at kranji mrt at 7am on 4Aug to go for malaysia camp meeting. hx was late cuz hx didnt expect the timing for 1st bus from hx hse to kranji mrt was 707am. A bit too late when hx discover that. Haiz.. Then on the 23Aug, we were to meet 630pm to take bus to Malacca. The bus will leave at 7pm sharp. That morning, hx was rushing to finish hx final report for hx FYP before hx went home to prepare to go into malaysia. expected to go home at 3pm but hx finished at around 4pm. In the end, hx was quite late when hx left home to take bus to the meeting place. hx knew that hx wont reach there by 630pm but think will reach there well before 7pm. however, hx didnt expect that there is a traffic jam. hx was using '3 bao' during the whole journey. Finally reach the destination at 707pm.. haiz.. hope hx learnt from all this stunts that hx had made. "707" arrgg...
